MAKSAK 2012

The time has come again. MAKSAK chess will be held in Penang for the second time since I first represented Kelantan in 2008. Well, I only played for Kelantan twice - in Penang in 2008 and in Kelantan (2009). In 2010, MAKSAK chess was held in Kuala Lumpur, and I was on the verge of going until my father suddenly fell sick and eventually died 2 days later while in 2011 (Perak), MAKSAK Kelantan simply did not send a chess team because it was the carom team's turn. This year, ironically, I am in a dilemma again. My wife is expecting soon and I am presented with a difficult decision between going or not going. Kelantan team is quite strong even without me but I have been absent from MAKSAK chess scene for too long I don't even know MAKSAK chess players anymore. My wife, however, asks me to go and play and assures me that my second baby will wait for his dad to come home victoriously. That is enough for me to keep training and hopefully, I will repay her faith by returning home with a victory.

So, Penang, here I come!
